Tarkarli Trip

This weekend I went to Tarkarli, which is a small village near Malvan in Sindhudurg District. It is a very beautiful village having the typical kokan village feel to it. The great fish of kokani style is something you should surely not miss. The beautiful clean beach is surely one of the best in maharashtra and can give stiff competetion to the beaches of Goa.

This is the beautiful sunrise I captured while I was on my way to Tarkarli.

The Resort was directly attached to the beach and the shacks were positioned so as to enjoy late nights or early mornings by the sea side.

The beach has extremely clear and clean water. The locals can be seen fishing during the low tide on this beach. The fishing boats have maintained the kokan village look of this tourist destination beach.

On the way back we got a taste of the torrential rains in kokan, but the beauty of gagan-bawda ghat on the way to kolhapur made our trip more memorable.

This beautiful flower known as the Brahma Kamal blossoms during monsoons late in the night and by the next morning the flower closes and dries. These are some of the rare snaps that I could take a couple of years back.
